Not just for fancy dress
We like any excuse for dressing up in an ape costume, but if it helps us achieve our campaign goals then even better. Greenpeace activists dressing up in orangutan costumes and taking on companies that destroy our furry friends’ homes sends an important message to the big cheeses at the companies, and also lets the public know who the culprits are.

Sometimes companies that source products grown on deforested land, such as palm oil and palm based animal feed, need a little wake up call to encourage them to pay closer attention to what their suppliers are doing. Dressing up in animal costumes may seem silly, but companies don’t like it when their customers see our activists outside their buildings all over the news. Unfortunately New Zealand dairy giant Fonterra is foolishly trying to resist stopping its imports of palm based animal feed from Indonesia and Malaysia.
